How to live broadcast through StationPlaylist

What is StationPlaylist?

StationPlaylist is radio automation software that's designed to run locally on your machine. You can configure it to automate playlists and schedule content. It has powerful support for complicated scheduling, voice tracking, jingles and more.

You need to connect StationPlaylist live to Radio Cult so that your listeners can listen to your content.

Adding your radio station

To add your radio station to StationPlaylist complete the following steps:

  1. Open StationPlaylist and click on Add Encoder
  2. You'll see a new encoder appear in your list. Double click on the new encoder.
  3. Grab your radio station's details from your Radio Cult dashboard. You can find your live streaming details in the Connection details panel.
  4. Enter these details into StationPlaylist:
    1. Samplerate: 44100
    2. Server Type: Icecast2
    3. Server IP: your Address from Radio Cult (e.g. my-test-station.radiocult.fm)
    4. Server Port: your Port from Radio Cult
    5. Encoder Username: source (StationPlaylist does not support entering your username properly so make sure to enter source)
    6. Encoder password: As StationPlaylist does not support usernames, you will need to enter your email, followed by a | and then your live streaming password: e.g. user@gmail.com|ab672gd21r (see here for more details).
    7. Mountpoint: /live
  5. Hit OK to save

Broadcasting live

To start live broadcasting through StationPlaylist, click the Connect button in the main window.
