How to live broadcast through Myriad

In this article, we'll explain how to live broadcast through the different Myriad radio tools to Radio Cult. Let's dive into it!

What is Myriad?

Myriad is a suite radio automation software that's designed to run locally on your machine or up in the cloud. There are a range of different products within the Myriad product suite — like Myriad Cloud, Myriad Anywhere and more.

You'll generally need to connect your Myriad product live to Radio Cult so that your listeners can listen to your content.

Adding your radio station

To add your radio station to Myriad complete the following steps:

  1. Login to Myriad Cloud and click on Settings
  2. In the Settings section click on Advanced Cloud Settings
  3. In the Encoders section, click on the + to add a new encoder
  4. You'll see a new encoder appear in your list
  5. Grab your radio station's details from your Radio Cult dashboard. You can find your live streaming details in the Connection details panel.
  6. Enter these details into Myriad:
    1. Reference: Give this encoder a unique name
    2. Server Name: your Address from Radio Cult (e.g. my-test-station.radiocult.fm)
    3. Port: your Port from Radio Cult
    4. Mountpoint Name: your Mountpoint from Radio Cult with a / in front (e.g. /live)
    5. Source Username: source (Myriad does not support entering your username properly so make sure to enter source)
    6. Source Password: As Myriad does not support usernames, you will need to enter your email, followed by a | and then your live streaming password: e.g. user@gmail.com|ab672gd21r (see here for more details).
  7. Hit Save

Broadcasting live

To start live broadcasting through Myriad, make sure you have toggled the encoder we set up previously. You can do this by clicking on the Enabled toggle.

With that you are done! You are now live broadcasting through Myriad via Radio Cult!
