How to schedule a live event
In this help article, we'll show you how to schedule a live event in Radio Cult.
A live event is a slot for you to connect live and broadcast in real time to your listeners.
Navigating to schedule
To schedule a live event, first you need to navigate to the Schedule page.
To navigate to the Schedule page, click the Schedule option in the top navigation bar.
Scheduling a live event
To schedule a live event, please complete the following steps:
- Within the Schedule page's calendar, identify the date and start time you wish to schedule the event for, and
- Then click the calendar grid position which corresponds to the desired date and start time of the event. An event will appear on the calendar where you just clicked and the Create event window will be displayed. To create a longer event, click and drag your mouse down the calendar to the desired end time.
- Add a Title to the event,
- For the event's Media type, ensure the Live option is selected,
- Optional: Add the event's other details such as Description, Artists and Colour, and
- Then click the Create event button.
Your new live event will now be created!
Please note: if the station member who will be broadcasting during this live event has a DJ role in Radio Cult then, prior to the event, the DJ member will have to be linked to one of your station's artist and that particular artist will need to be assigned to the live event (you can use the Artists dropdown in the Create event window to achieve this). This will ensure the DJ member can successfully connect to your streaming server just before the start of the event.
