How to set and edit the duration of an event
Let's take a look at how to set the duration of an event down to the minute. Time slots default to 15 minutes to make creating events quick and easy. However, all events in Radio Cult can have their duration specified down to the minute.
Let's jump into it.
How to set the duration for a new event
1. Navigate to the Schedule page - https://app.radiocult.fm/schedule

2. Click and drag on the schedule to bring up the Create event modal.

3. Click on any of the time pickers in the Date section to manually enter a time down to the minute. In this example, we start by editing the start time and clicking the hour component of the time field.

4. You can either 1) type in any hour value you want (1 - 12) or 2) increment/decrement the current value by an hour for each press of the up arrow key (↑)/down arrow key (↓).

5. To set the minute component of the time field, either type the minute value you want (0 - 59) or use the arrow keys mentioned above to increment or decrement the current value.

6. To set the am/pm component of the time field, type ‘am’ or ‘pm’ to set whether the time is in the morning or afternoon/evening. You can also use the up and down arrow keys to cycle through to the opposite value.

ℹ️ In Steps 4 - 6 above we filled out each field sequentially (in display order) for illustrative purposes only.
You can set any field in any order.
7. We can do the same for the end time. Click on the hour component of the time field. Then repeat Steps 4 - 6 to set the end time hour component, then minute component and finally the am/pm component.

8. Fill out any final fields (e.g. Title).
9. Click the Create event button to save your event.

⚠️ By design, we don’t prevent invalid values being entered for start time and end time.
A validation message will appear if the event’s duration is invalid (e.g. 0 hours, > 24 hours).
In these scenarios you will need to set start time and/or end time to valid values before the event can be created.
How to edit the duration of an existing event
1. Navigate to the Schedule page - https://app.radiocult.fm/schedule

2. Click the event you want to edit to bring up the Edit event modal.

3. Click on the Date section to bring up the Update Date & Time modal.

4. Click on any of the time pickers in the Starts and Ends sections to manually enter a time down to the minute. The time pickers function exactly the same as when creating an event, so refer to Steps 4 - 6 in the previous section above to edit the time fields accordingly.

5. Click the Save button.

ℹ️ The Duration field in the Update Date & Time modal will update in real time as you edit an event’s start time and/or end time.
This allows you to easily see what the event’s new duration will be.
A validation message will also appear if the new duration is invalid (e.g. 0 hours, > 24 hours). If the selected duration is invalid, you’ll need to update the time fields to valid values before you can save the event’s new duration.
