What is overrun and how to enable it

Overrun lets a track finish playing naturally even after its scheduled event has ended, instead of being cut off the moment the next show starts.

Use it on any mix or playlist event where you'd rather hear the final seconds of a track than a hard cut into whatever comes next.

Good to know

  • Available on Pre-record and Playlist events only (not Live or Relay).
  • You set a maximum overrun, anywhere from 1 to 120 minutes - if a track would overshoot by more than that, it'll still be cut off at the cap.
  • The crossfade into the next event is skipped while a track is overrunning, so it plays out cleanly to the end.

Enabling overrun on an event

  1. On the Schedule page, create a new event or click an existing one to edit it.

2. Set the Media type to Pre-record or Playlist and choose your content.

3. In the Advanced section of the Media settings, toggle Overrun on.

4. Enter a Max overrun duration - the longest a track is allowed to run past the event's end time.

5. Save the event.

That's it. The next time this event runs, any track still playing when the clock runs out will be allowed to finish - up to your cap.
